Collection: Gary Andrew Clarke

As a child of the naively futuristic 1970s, Gary Andrew Clarke is mainly influenced by the hard-edge painting and geometric abstraction from that period. This series of prints was inspired by the 'Chance and Order' experiments of Kenneth Martin. Each work is a 10 x 10 grid and each grid unit is either a vertical line, horizontal line, or both. This was decided by random selection, with a second random process choosing the color of each unit. Clarke’s paintings and prints have been exhibited in Manchester, London and various other cities in Europe. Gary currently lives and works in Manchester, England.
