10x10
As a company driven to bring more art, to more people, in more spaces, Davis Editions is focused on creating numerous entry points to appreciate and collect beautiful, affordable art from today's most exciting artists.
10x10 is our collaboration with innovative and talented digital artists who make art with computer code. The artist uses rules and formulas to create a series of ten unique artworks, all generated from a single algorithm. Each of the ten original artworks is a Digital Original, also known as an NFT or non-fungible token. For each one of the Digital Originals, ten limited edition prints will be made. Those who collect the Digital Original will not only acquire the art as a digital asset, but will also receive the physical 1/10 limited edition print of their original art.

Old Grove by Nat Sarkissian
Old Grove depicts the quiet beauty of forgotten, unpruned citrus trees. The branches are heavy with ripe fruit sometimes drooping toward the earth where fallen fruit lie. These trees have found their freedom, growing with abandon...
FAQ
What is 10x10?
10x10 is a program for generative artists to release small, unique projects and for collectors to purchase digital originals and limited edition prints.
How does 10x10 work?
10x10 invites the most talented and innovative generative artists working today to create a project, upload their creative code to the blockchain, and curate their collection to 11 unique pieces of art. Digital Original #0 remains in the artist’s collection and Digital Originals #1-10 are made available for purchase. When a collector purchases a Digital Original, it is in the form of an NFT.
What is generative art?
Generative art is an art form in which an artist develops a system for creating individual works. Today, generative art often involves the creation of an algorithm using computer code. Randomness is introduced into the artist’s algorithm, and the system outputs a unique artwork.
What is a DIGITAL ORIGINAL?
Have you heard of NFTs, non-fungible tokens? There are a lot of emotional responses around NFTs, understandably. We want to make sure when we are referring to pieces of art on the blockchain, people understand we are talking about a digital asset that includes a record of ownership. The NFTs created by artists for the 10x10 program are on-chain and reference the algorithmic instructions for the artwork itself. We are calling these Digital Originals so collectors understand the unique nature of the digital artwork.
What is an NFT?
A non-fungible token, NFT, is a unique digital asset that includes a record of ownership. It is stored on a digital system, called a blockchain.
How can I pay?
We support regular credit card payments as well as cryptocurrency payments through our Coinbase Commerce integration.
How do I receive my DIGITAL ORIGINAL?
Your Digital Original will be emailed directly to you with beautiful and easy to use technology built by our friends at Gifted.art. The experience is no more complicated than accepting a gift card by email. The Digital Original withdrawal is completely free - we will cover the “gas fees” for you. To withdraw your Digital Original to your own wallet, you simply open the email you receive and connect your wallet to Gifted.art.
What is a wallet?
All artworks on the blockchain are registered to digital accounts where their ownership is verified. These accounts are called “wallets,” and in order to take possession of your Digital Original, you will need an Ethereum wallet.
How do I set up a wallet?
If you’re just getting started, we recommend setting up a wallet with MetaMask. Download and install the MetaMask browser extension.
Once installed, the MetaMask fox logo should appear in the upper right corner of your browser. Click it to open the MetaMask extension.
Click “Get Started”, “Create a Wallet”, and agree to the terms.
Set up a password to unlock your MetaMask extension. This password only secures access to MetaMask on your device and is not the key to your wallet.
MetaMask will now reveal your secret recovery phrase (also known as your “seed phrase”). This sequence of words acts as the master key to your wallet. We recommend physically writing down the phrase and storing it in a safe location, rather than storing it digitally. It is important to keep your recovery phrase secure to maintain access to your wallet. If you lose your recovery phrase, you will lose access to your wallet. If someone else gains access to your recovery phrase, they will gain control of your wallet. Neither Davis Editions nor MetaMask can recover your wallet if you lose access to your recovery phrase.
After writing down your recovery phrase, MetaMask will ask you to confirm it by selecting the words in the correct order. This step verifies that you have correctly recorded your recovery phrase.
Your wallet is now ready and can be used to connect to services such as Gifted.art.
Which blockchain does Davis Editions use?
All artwork for 10x10 is minted via Art Blocks Engine on the Ethereum blockchain.
