Joseph Podlesnik was born and raised in Milwaukee, WI. He holds a BFA in drawing and painting from the Univ. of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and an MFA in drawing and painting from Cornell University. His interests include visual art, the psychological mechanisms behind visual perception and philosophy (particularly epistemology and the philosophy of science). Some authors that interest him are art historian E.H. Gombrich, critical rationalist philosopher Karl Popper, cognitive scientist Donald D. Hoffman and art historian/art critic James Elkins. Joseph currently serves as Adjunct Instructor of Art (online) for the Stockton University Visual Arts Program and Facilitator for the Online Digital Photography Cornell Certificate Program. Podlesnik exhibits his photographs, singly and in group shows, nationally and internationally. He resides in Phoenix, AZ.
